KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Northeastern State men’s sKANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Northeastern State men’s soccer team earned a season-high mark of No. 19 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II National Rankings released today.
The RiverHawks (8-3-2, 5-1-1 MIAA) are coming off a weekend where they went to first-place Lindenwood and earned a 0-0 draw before traveling to Southwest Baptist and picking up a 5-0 victory.
The team has now conceded just three goals in its last six contests, which includes four shutouts. The successful stretch has also helped NSU vault to the top spot in the Central Region Polls for the first time this year. The regional rankings determine the teams that will compete in the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship at season’s end.
The RiverHawks will first play host to Fort Hays State at 7 p.m. Thursday. The team will then take on Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. Saturday and Ouachita Baptist at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.
