Boys
DARRELL JAMES SHOOTOUT – The Warner boys built a 21-point lead at halftime on their way to a 60-30 win over Crowder in their first-round game of the Darrell James Shootout in Canadian.
The Eagles, who jumped out to a 28-7 lead after two quarters were led by Kyle Taylor with 17 points while Grey Denton and K.T. Parker had 13 and 11 points, respectively, as Warner improved to 2-1 on the year.
The Eagles face the winner of Kinta and Union Christian at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Webbers Falls fell behind by six at the end of the first half and could not make up the difference in losing to Lakewood 57-51 on Monday.
The Warriors (3-5) were led by Jordan Sharp with 16 points while Dillin Coleman and Jamie Carey added 13 and 13 points, respectively.
Webbers Falls meets the loser of host Canadian and Indianola at 5:30 p.m. today.
Girls
DARRELL JAMES SHOOTOUT – The Warner girls earned their first win of the season with a 44-39 victory over Indianola in Canadian on Monday.
Warner’s statistics were not made available to the Phoenix at press time.
The Lady Eagles advanced and will play Canadian at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The Webbers Falls girls saw their record fall to 3-5 with a 46-33 loss to Crowder in their first-round game in Canadian.
Bailey Toney was the only player for the Lady Warriors to crack the double-figure mark with 13 points.
Webbers Falls hits the court at 4 p.m. today and plays the loser of Kinta and Union Christian.
