Luke Mills was the top award winner at the Hilldale High School football banquet, selected by the coaches and players as the Most Valuable Player for the Hornets in the 2008 season.
Mills was one of nine players receiving individual awards at the banquet, held at the Hilldale Events Center last Saturday.
The outstanding linemen awards went to Nate Lawson on offense and Chandler Foltz on defense. Elsewhere on defense, Morgan Nicodin was named Outstanding Back and Dakota West the Outstanding Linebacker.
Tanner Mullens was named the Most Improved Player and Levi Hamilin was the Newcomer of the Year. Ryan Chang picked up the Fighting Hornet Award and Colby Dickman was the Scout Team Player of the Year.
Hilldale also was represented on the All-District 4A-4 team by Foltz, Lawson, Mullens and Chang. Zach Shields was an honorable mention choice.
The Hornets finished the 2008 season at 1-9.
