BAKED TURNIP FRENCH FRIES
3 to 4 medium to large turnips
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon onion and/or garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground paprika
1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 425°.
Spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray, or wipe down with olive oil.
Peel and cut turnips into 1/2 inch sticks of varying lengths, “steak fries” size, and dunk briefly in a bowl of water, then drain In gallon-size sealable plastic bag, combine cheese and seasonings.
Add moist turnips; seal bag, toss to coat turnips.
Place turnips on baking sheet.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until turnips are tender and golden.
Serves four.
