STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s men’s basketball team will host the Gonzaga Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Dec. 31, it was announced Tuesday by ESPN and the Big 12 Conference office. The game will be televised on ESPN2 in the primetime slot.
The scheduling is ideal for OSU fans, as none of the football bowl games with ties to the Big 12 will be played Dec. 30-Jan. 2, giving Cowboy fans a chance to experience one of the most highly anticipated non-conference home games in school history. There are three bowl games with Big 12 ties on Saturday, Dec. 29, but the next Big 12 tie-in bowl will be the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3.
In what has become a New Year's Eve tradition, this will mark the third-consecutive season and the fifth time in the last eight years that Oklahoma State has played on Dec. 31. Three of the previous four games were played inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
