Cowboy earns Big 12 award

— IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State junior Trey Whaley has been tabbed the Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week for games played April 23-29, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Whaley’s hot hitting helped Oklahoma State go 4-0 on the week, which included a win over No. 23 Oklahoma and a series sweep at Kansas State. Whaley started all four games in the outfield and hit .529 (9-for-17) with six doubles, five runs and four RBIs.
