Thunder adds lead 66ers in win
TULSA — Newcomer guard Reggie Jackson, one of three Oklahoma City Thunder players reassigned earlier in the day, struck a double-double with 20 points and 11 assists, adding six rebounds in the Tulsa 66ers’ 109-98 win over the Rio Grande Vipers on Saturday night at the SpiritBank Event Center.
Forward Dominique Sutton collected his second-straight double-double with 21 points and 10 boards. Two other OKC assignees stood out — center Daniel Orton scored 18 with four rebounds and four assists and guard Jeremy Lamb had 12 points.
Guard Andy Rautins added 18 points in Tulsa’s highest-scoring game this year.
Ringling, OCS win A, 2A titles
STILLWATER – Ringling’s Jackson Dillon ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns, Taner Richardson accounted for three more scores and Ringling beat Wynnewood 39-12 for the OSSAA Class A football state championship Saturday.
Richardson threw touchdown passes to Slade Stewart and Landon Lyle in the first half as the Blue Devils (13-1) won their first state championship since 2003.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma Christian quarterback Austin Brooks bounced back from three interceptions, throwing for 387 and five touchdowns as the Saints beat Davis 44-41 for the 2A title. OCS held the Davis wishbone to 176 yards. Davis eliminated Vian 22-0 in last week’s semifinals.
OSU wrestlers outduel Wyoming
STILLWATER — Winning four bouts by major decision, No. 2 Oklahoma State defeated No. 8 Wyoming 31-8 in a dual at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Saturday.
Alex Dieringer at 157 poiunds, Tyler Caldwell (165), Chris Perry (174) and Chris Chionuma (184) won their bouts by major decision. Other OSU wins were by Jon Morrison (133), Julian Feikert (141) and Jordan Oliver (149).
