Oklahoma will host Hofstra in the first game of a four-game baseball set at 3 p.m. today at L.Dale Mitchell Park in Norman. Oklahoma State starts off at New Mexico in a 6 p.m. start, also today.
OU enters the 2013 season ranked No. 14 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, No. 17 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, No. 19 by Baseball America and No. 20 by Perfect Game.
The Sooners have been selected asthe preseason favorite to win the 2013 Big 12 baseball regular season. In a vote by the league’s head coaches, the Sooners earned six first-place votes, totaling 62 points. TCU was second, followed by Texas, Baylor, OSU, Texas Tech, Kansas State, Kansas and West Virginia.
