STILLWATER – On New Year’s Eve, the Oklahoma State men’s basketball team will host nationally-ranked Gonzaga in perhaps the biggest non-conference game in Stillwater since defending national champion Louisville visited Gallagher Hall on Dec. 6, 1980.
Oklahoma State and Gonzaga will tip at 5 p.m. and OSU alum Boone Pickens is backing the Cowboy basketball team in a big way. He has purchased the remaining 4,000 game tickets for free distribution to Cowboy fans.
While the tickets last, they can be picked up at the OSU ticket office in Gallagher-Iba Arena on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a limit of six tickets per individual.
“I thought long and hard about what gift I could give my fellow OSU Cowboys this year,” Pickens said. “I couldn’t find enough basketballs, but I did find enough basketball tickets. Let’s put them to good use, pack Gallagher-Iba for the Gonzaga game, and put a great exclamation point on a promising OSU basketball season under Coach Ford.”
The OSU ticket office operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The tickets will be available beginning today.
