THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Voters are to blame for Congress’ miscues

— I guess I have to get on my soapbox, ya’ll as I got loaded for bear yesterday! This week, we are going to go on the politicians trail and see what they are doing to us now. I finally figured it out that no matter who sits on “The Hill” the people are given a basket full of manure. It doesn’t matter whether they are Republican or Democrat, the saying, “by the people, for the people, and of the people” just don’t hold water anymore.

“Medicare payments to doctors are going to be cut 25 percent, making it impossible for them to make a living from Medicare patients, so most will quit accepting Medicare.” This is what I was told, by a physician! If it affects the physician, won’t it also affect home health? One doctor told my son, “cash only from now on, no insurance at all!” Naturally my son dropped that doctor.

One medicine I have been on for several years, has been taken off the shelves and now, instead of $4 for generic, at one pharmacy, it will cost me $262 to even get the real thing, and some pharmacies don’t even carry that one. You can holler “Obamacare” all you want to but it takes Congress, etc. to pass these changes. Yet they have their limos, security guards, high-priced dinners, excellent medical coverage, and retirement check, so they can lay in the lap of luxury, after they leave “The Hill.” Who is to blame for this garbage?

I know a young woman whose husband works, she gets SSI because she has a son with a medical disorder that prevents her from being able to work, but she works it out anyway and is called on the carpet, because she is trying to work and help with expenses, because they were told they weren’t eligible for food stamps.

After living expense, medical bills, utility bill, and gas, there isn’t money for food. What is wrong with this picture? Who is to blame? Sorry to say, “we are,” we put them in control. God help America.
