THE PEOPLE SPEAK — IRS as enforcer for Obamacare

— If you read the Phoenix (Oct. 11th, Section A, Page 7, you missed a great article by Byron York titled “Romney should expose IRS as enforcer of Obamacare.” In past years, the IRS had become such a tyrant they had to be restrained. That just may become so again. President Obama and the Democrats put popular parts of Obamacare to take place before the elections. They left their harder parts out until 2014 — praying he will have “safely been re-elected by that time.” How can people know about this 2,700-PAGE law? It would require 100 people to read 27 pages each and then give a very accurate account of what they read.

Remember how happy “Joe” was when he expressed himself into a live mike that this is a big (left out) deal? His verbiage should have been an embarrassment to the President as well as members of the Democratic Party.

About the debate last evening Joe Biden displayed so much “condescension and arrogance,” rude interruptions. OK Joe, we have seen your teeth! And about security for Libya, if I remember correctly, they asked for more even more than once and it was denied and they were told to stop requesting.

Talk, talk and talk some more. Aware of North Korea? This has been the approach there. Even former President Clinton went there. Today they are telling us they (NK) have the capability of striking the U.S. Iran need not have the bomb design as of yet, no need to if there is no capability of building the necessary materials and they seem to be on their way. Biden denied their nuclear capability stating they didn’t have a weapon yet.

Sorry to read Kress

to be demolished

My family moved to Muskogee in 1948. Our entertainment on Saturday nights was to go park in front of Kress and my dad would go in and get some peanuts, popcorn or candy. We would then sit in the car and watch the people go in and out of the store.

We lived in Ridgecrest at the time. The manager of Kress, Mr. Anderson, was our neighbor. I woke him up one morning to ask if I could go to work for him. I was only 15 and he said I had to be 16.

When I turned 16, I went to work on Saturdays for 40 cents an hour. In between my junior and senior years, I went to summer school in the morning and then to work in the afternoon.

We had a supervisor named Miss Harris. Miss Harris made all of us call our fellow workers “miss” and their name.

The last manager I worked for was Mr. White before I graduated from high school and went to work full-time for then Phoenix Federal Savings and Loan.

I was sorry to read S.H. Kress is going to be demolished.
