THE PEOPLE SPEAK — People’s right to vote must be protected

— The General Election is a few days and some hours old. Let us hope that one of the bulwarks of our democracy has not been eroded by those well-meaning citizens who tried to take away the right of ‘their’ fellow citizens to exercise the privilege to vote. No political agenda is worth jeopardizing the bedrock principle of being able to vote. “Of the people, by the people, and for the people” must be protected at all costs, else the very reasons we enjoy the freedoms that allow us to voice our ideas and opinions would be lost. No wonder the First Amendment is first. Period.
