Two meetings today are opportunities for citizens to change the future of Muskogee.
The first — Silent Witness — honors those who are victims of domestic violence.
The second — Action in Muskogee — is the fourth of five meetings in a visioning process for our community’s future.
Last year, Women in Safe Home served 576 people who were victims of domestic assault, said Executive Director Evelyn Hibbs.
That’s a tragedy that can’t be eliminated in our society without some commitment from each of us to help end the cycle.
The first step may very well be to bring it to the forefront of our collective conscience.
Go to Arrowhead Mall today and look at the displays representing victims of domestic violence and then get involved.
Later today, you can join the visioning process at the Muskogee Civic Center.
AIM needs every possible citizen to voice an opinion on the direction our city leaders should take in creating a successful future.
Don’t worry that you have not attended any of the meetings so far.
Your voice needs to be heard in both instances.
