THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Mullin has character we need in Washington

Editor’s note: An old letter was mistakenly published Wednesday. The following letter should have been published.

My family has worked and served the community for many years trying to educate and inform and empower voters in Muskogee County and the 2nd District … we believe in and are thankful for the right to know and vote for the candidate of your choice. In general, there is an unspoken code of behavior that is expected in our city and district, but unfortunately that is not being upheld by all and sadly this tears down voter confidence in the end.

Markwayne Mullin has shown to be someone who has helped our Oklahoma economy by turning around a failing business that now employs over 120 people. His desire to serve the 2nd District in Washington comes from his experience as a businessman and his frustration with the overreach of our government, personal experience with the out-of-control regulations and intrusion.

It is clear he doesn’t need another job nor would he benefit from joining career politicians in Washington. It is clear that despite the shady untruths that his opponent keeps throwing his way that he keeps coming up innocent, and has not resorted to the fear tactics that his opponent is employing in an attempt to force the vote. That’s character we need in Washington and that restores voter confidence to us all!

Markwayne proved in the primary that he has the superior endorsement of “We The People”, not big names who try to exert influence over us. I hope you’ll join me in voting for Markwayne Mullin this Aug. 28 in the runoff, and the only endorsement he really needs, will once again be, “We The People”!
