THE FAMILY of Harold Ellis would like to thank everyone for providing flowers, food, and especially your loving support during our loss.
Harold believed that no one should ever go hungry and that no one should ever be alone, whether it was a holiday, birthday or from a loss within the community. Therefore he encouraged people to join him, his family and friends at Our Place Cafe, not just to fill your belly, but to share time with friends as family.
We hope to carry on his tradition of neighbors helping neighbors. Harold felt the ladies of Braggs were the best cooks around and they truly proved that over the last week.
We thank all of you for being loyal friends to him throughout his life, your kindness will never be forgotten.
PERHAPS YOU sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a funeral spray, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say, perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so very much, whatever the part.

THE TULLAHASSEE Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all of the local merchants for their donations of items and gift certificates for the raffle during the annual Peach Festival in Porter.
The raffle was a huge success and will benefit the family of Ronnie Willhite, one of our own volunteer firefighters/first responders who was killed recently in a traffic accident at his home.
Those who contributed gifts or merchandise include: Of Muskogee: The Tint Lady, Wheeler Metals, Marvin’s IGA, Ultra Tan, I’m A Basket Case, Cookie Bedazzeled, Ruth Kelly Studios, and Dr. Gary Lamber. Of Porter: The Peach Barn/Livesay Orchards and Baker’s Fish House. Of Wagoner: Meats and More, and of Broken Arrow: Bass Pro Shop.
Please support these generous merchants and when you are at their business, tell them thank you for supporting the community. Thank you again for your generosity and support. We pray that this generosity is repaid at least tenfold by those in the community supporting you.
Again, thank you and God bless.

THE 2:28 P.M. FIRE “on the mountain” was my place.
I was sitting in a cool Tulsa theater with my grandchildren watching Ice Age when the report was called in by neighbor Don Jenkins. Several community fire departments helped including our own Shady Grove-Central High Volunteer Fire Dept. The firemen did a fantastic job of saving my home. I thank each one individually and the group as a whole. We have the best first responders on the planet and, the best neighbors.

I WOULD LIKE to thank two very nice men, who came to my aid last Saturday, July 14th. If it wasn’t for them I would of had to walk all the way home. My car broke down at South Country Club and Hancock, and they pushed my car back out of the road and gave me a ride home. Which is not something people do anymore, giving what this world is, nowadays.
With what, my car breaking down, and what has happened to me in the past, I was a little more than flustered, so much so I had a hard time telling them where I lived. I also forgot to get their names, and also forgot to tell them how to get out to the main road.
So, I hope you see this and know I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for all your help.
God bless,
Jacque & John Spencer
ON JULY 20TH I left the Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson (Cherokee National Cemetery) after the funeral of my step-mom.
I stopped at the E-Z Mart on Poplar Street on the way home to Oklahoma City. In my rush, because of the upcoming storm, I left my billfold in the women’s restroom.
Someone turned it in, intact. to an E-Z Mart employee. It is wonderful to know that with all the headlines in our papers today about dishonesty, there are kind, good and honest people out there, at least in Fort Gibson.
Thank you.
