On Thursday Aug. 30, 2012, the Muskogee Street Department once again demonstrated why Muskogee’s streets are absolutely the worst in the entire known world.
On East Hancock east of the Sewage Treatment Plant, the road was in need of repairs. What we got was a debacle and a lesson on how to waste tax dollars and create a convoluted mess. The people responsible for this mess are Greg Buckley, City Manager, Mike Stewart, Public Works Director and Jim Wixon, Street Department.
These people took a road in need of repair, and created a situation that is both dangerous to human life and a hazard to your vehicle. If these people have not seen this debacle, shame on you, after all, you are the ones charged with competent street repair and, if you are unable to perform your duties better than this, maybe you are not qualified and should resign.
To the mayor, and all of the city councilors, I challenge you to go see this example of street repair and if you are impressed, give all those involved a bonus. If you are saddened at this waste of taxpayer dollars, encourage them to resign immediately. If they decline, take the steps to end their employment. The citizens of Muskogee deserve better than these incompetent individuals.
