THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Why do secessionists want to leave now?

According to the news, people in 10 states, including Oklahoma, are petitioning to secede from the USA. I have a question for them, why is it that no one wanted to secede when George Bush was president? He started a war in Iraq based on lies and wasted 36,395 American dead and wounded lives, 132,000 Iraqi civilian lives, and $1.4 trillion dollars.

I also question why people vote for the current Republicans? They are too attached to the wealthy. The last Republican that I could vote for was Dwight D. Eisenhower. I didn’t think that “trickle down” was as good for Americans as “fair share” when it came to life styles.

Who are the GOP protecting? Well I have found a list of  companies who made about $19 billion in 2009 and paid no income taxes, but received about $156 million in rebates from the IRS. As did Bank of America, who made $4.4 billion in profits in 2010 and received a bailout from the Federal Reserve of nearly one trillion.

Based on research of the Tax Policy Center’s report that I read, ten Americans made a total of $50 billion dollars in one year. It also stated that just tax deductions for the rich in America could pay off 100 percent of the deficit.

What is also interesting is a report about the four presidents and their administrations. Three of the “fiscal conservatives” shows Reagan with a $200 billion deficit, George H. W. Bush with a $300 billion deficit, and George Bush Jr. with a $482 billion deficit as they left office. However a “tax and spend liberal,” Bill Clinton, has a $200 billion surplus when he left office. Gee, I guess that there is a difference between liberal and conservative after all.
