During my four years in office, I have been impressed with the dedication of Sen. Earl Garrison on issues that are dear to most Oklahomans. As Chairman of the Veteran’s Affairs Committee, I worked closely with Sen. Garrison, himself a veteran, to pass key laws that relieved the tax burden on serving soldiers and provided credit for skills of returning war veterans. Sen. Garrison was my bi-partisan sponsor on these bills that were signed into law.
In defending the most precious of our rights, specifically, the defense of the 2nd Amendment, I always knew I could count on Sen. Garrison to put the constitution first. He was an essential voice in the debate on Oklahoma gun laws and through his efforts, many key measures were passed that strengthened our right to keep and bear arms.
While I am a Republican, I am foremost an American, veteran and defender of the constitution. I have been thankful during my service in the Oklahoma Senate to have had such allies as Sen. Earl Garrison. My hope is that the people he represents will continue to have confidence in his leadership and send him back for another term. His character, faith, conviction and actions have benefited the entire state.
