I was up early this morning and sat here remembering the last few days and all that happened to make me even more proud of my children. When I talk about my children, this includes my sons, mates they have chosen to spend their lives with because they have the same love and compassion as my natural born.

To me, celebrating Christ’s birthday, is giving of yourself, for that’s what Jesus did, and what better gift can we give than ourselves to make someone happy. My youngest son and his mate took two more children into their home, along with five they had already adopted giving them love, security, and a place where they can live contented and happy just knowing they are loved.

I’ve watched as my middle son and his mate decorate my neighbors door making it look like a present all wrapped up in ribbon and bows spreading an unspoken message, “I’m your Gift, this year, giving to you love and compassion as my Saviour did so many years ago.” We live in an apartment complex and everyone that passes by our doors gets a kick from it because they really are quite awesome looking. They have decorated three apartments so far and each one is different, making each one unique and different as we are.

So I sat here this morning so very thankful for God’s blessings in my life because I am so very blessed. Their oldest brother went home on Nov. 3, 2005 and he expressed his soul and love in his paintings. As I sat here, I was silently thanking God for my family and giving me such loving children. Even with all our human frailties, I felt a little pride that God gave us his greatest gift, his son, Jesus, and gave me the greatest pleasure in this life, my children, my children’s children, and so far, my children’s children’s children, that gives of themselves.

 I feel very humbled this morning, by this gift! So I will continue in my lifetime to say “Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Jesus!”
