There are plenty of silly laws on the books that need to be repealed.
Parts of the Patriot Act, for instance, that criminalizes librarians for telling someone that their book selections had been checked, or immigration law that makes criminals of ministers that give certain people a ride to the doctor, or maybe that stupid bill authored by George Faught that takes away all of our tax exemptions and deductions but affordable healthcare?
Health insurance lobbyists are banging the drum for repeal. Just think, no pre-existing conditions, cancellation of people with terminal illness, no autism, no children over 18. They only want to insure healthy people. That’s pretty good odds, wouldn’t you say.
If you have a spouse, child, grandson or great granddaughter that has a pre-existing condition you might want affordable healthcare. If you have a 24- or 25-year-old son or daughter that’s unemployed and needs healthcare. You might want affordable healthcare.
If you have healthcare and are absolutely sure that you will never be canceled by your insurance company then read your Bible where it says “You are your brother’s keeper” and stop this foolishness.
