As a spirit-filled believer, I take voting very serious. I’m a registered Republican who had always voted my party until 2008. Leading up to the 2008 election the Lord dealt with me several times to vote for Obama.

In Christian circles, the Republican party is held up as the moral party and the one we should vote for. But are they the moral party?

Statistics show Republicans were involved in 61 percent of sex scandals in the past 10 years, whereas Democrats were involved in just 39 percent. Moreover, 34 of sex scandals were gay scandals (i.e., involving an ostensibly straight politician and a same-sex partner), with Republicans accounting for 78.5 percent of all gay scandals. Republicans were also involved in 66 percent of all underage scandals.

Conclusion: If a sex scandal is going on in Washington, there is a two in three chance it will involve a Republican. And if it’s a gay scandal, it’s an almost sure bet that it involves a Republican. (Source: truthwinsout.org)

Deception is blinding and the majority of the Republican party are so blinded by religion that hate, bigotry and judgmentalism has led them into thinking that they are morally superior to others. Especially if that other is of lower financial status, gay, a woman, or some other race besides white. Yet no matter how immoral these politicians lives are, come election day, the majority of the church and those in religion circles end up in the same camp casting a vote for them.

I get a righteous anger when one group thinks they are better than the other. But I believe it grieves the very heart of God when it’s Christians who think they are better than others.

As Christians we do have a responsibility to vote God’s will. And when we vote for wrong reasons we join forces with an unrighteous cause.

We are not donkeys or elephants. We are sheep and we are to be led by the Holy Spirit. “Romney is not God’s Choice!”
