THANK YOU 08.11.12

— WE WISH TO thank so many of Muskogee’s citizens for their help and kindness on 7-29. Our pickup would not start when we came out of Hobby Lobby. Rick, the manager of Golden Corral, tried for over 30 minutes to jump the battery off, but it was dead. He then offered to take us somewhere cooler and called a wrecker. While we waited two different ladies stopped and asked to help us, and a lady brought us two bottles of ice cold water. The two drivers with Morgan Towing were also very kind and helpful. Their kindness was itself a good recommendation for their company. A heartfelt thanks to all.

WORDS CANNOT express our gratitude to Blake Tarver for his courage when he rescued Jessie Wilson from his burning house on July 4th. Thank you also to the Gooseneck Bend and Brushy Mountain Fire Departments, EMS, Red Cross, and others who were so quick to respond to what could have been a tragedy. Thank you all so much.

WHAT YOU HAVE shown the Pierce family in our time of bereavement has been one of the most memorable times we have ever experienced. We were very astonished of how much love the city expressed during this time. Your expressions give us another outlook on life and a new chance with our God, whom we give all praises to. We can’t thank you enough for all the outstanding support from the city employees who came to show their respect. We would like to thank the leaders of this city from the bottom of our hearts.

All the love you all extended to my family and I was shown in the utmost excellent, professional, and honorable way. Actions like those are what we call top class and it doesn’t get any better than that. With all that shown, my family feels that saying thank you isn’t enough, but know that you have been a big blessing in our lives.

Let me take this special time, for special people, to give you all special thanks. My hat goes off to the Church of Christ on Chandler Road, The Fraternal Order of Police #95, the reserve police of Wagoner, the Muskogee Police Department, and the Muskogee Fire Department. My heart was so overwhelmed when we started to the cemetery and I saw my wife’s work truck leading us, followed by at least 10 police cars. Then to see the raise of the U.S. flag, which symbolizes courage and honor in our great country was very respectable. My hat is also off to those who got out of their cars to salute her. This act of kindness showed to my wife touched hearts exceedingly.

May God continue to bless each and every one of you, as well as your families. We pray and hope that this change in our lives will continue to flow with love throughout the hearts of the city, as well as love shown to anyone that may have to face such an unbearable time.
