The Muskogee Parks Department and director Mark Wilkerson recently built new playground equipment at Palmer Park on Honor Heights Drive.
This has greatly improved the park and is much appreciated by the many families with small children or grandchildren that live in the neighborhood. The existing playground equipment was for older children, leaving younger ones with only a single swing as a play option.
With the new equipment and an additional baby swing, the park is now much more family friendly and will continue to be a well-loved destination for children in the area. I grew up playing at the park with my grandmother, who still lives up the street. Now I live in the neighborhood myself, and have a wonderful place to take my son to play. We have already started to build the same memories that I treasure from my childhood. The Parks Department is doing a great job and their efforts at improving Palmer Park are laudable.
