Funeral services for Rita Lou (Fisher) Allen, 53, of Gore, OK, will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 21, 2009 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Vian, OK, with Reverend Wendell Cox officiating. Services and burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls, OK.
Mrs. Allen was born November 6, 1956 at Pasadena, CA, the daughter of Teddy Gene and Maureen (Shanks) Fisher and died Wednesday November 18, 2009 at Tahlequah, OK.
Rita trained and rode horses and was in numerous horse shows in Oklahoma and surrounding states. She was a very accomplished horse rider, her favorite horses being Quarter Horses and Paso Finos.
Rita graduated from Northeastern State University and was the Librarian at Northeastern State University before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had served in the US Air Force.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Teddy Gene Fisher and a brother, Eddie Fisher.
Survivors include her husband; Ernest Allen, mother, Maureen (Shanks) Fisher of Tahlequah, son, Ronnie Ray Locust of Tahlequah and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
