Joyce Lavell (Stamper) Cox

1954- 2009

Joyce Lavell (Stamper) Cox, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away November 17, 2009 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 55.  She was born April 6, 1954 in Bakersfield, California to Ordie L.C. Stamper and Ruth (Winn) Stamper.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Arthur Cox of the home, one daughter, Patricia Cox of Muskogee, Oklahoma, two sons, Jonathan Cox and wife, Jackie, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Daniel Cox of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, mother, Ruth Stamper of Stigler, Oklahoma, three brothers, David Stamper and wife, Peggy, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Phillip Stamper and wife, Judy, of Brooken, Oklahoma and Jimmy Stamper of Helena, Oklahoma, two grandchildren, BreAnna Cox and Ethan Cox, one special niece, Michelle Stamper, one sister-in-law, Katie Stamper of Lawton, Oklahoma. Numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Ordie L.C. Stamper, one sister, Della Sue Ybarra and one brother, Clyde Lee Stamper.

Funeral service will be 1pm Friday, November 20, 2009 at Mallory-Martin Chapel, Stigler with Rev. Clint Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Enterprise Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.

The family and friends would like to send their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Francis in Tulsa and Solara in Muskogee for their special care of Joyce.

Pallbearers are James Manes, Tyler Byrd, Robert Bohnsack, Ryan Stamper, Allen Byrd and Greg Bartchard. Honorary pallbearers will be David Stamper, Phillip Stamper, Jimmy Stamper and Frank Haynes.
