Harold R. Brown, of Porum, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 in Porum at the age of 71. He was born February 26, 1938 to John and Lucille (Sharp) Brown in Chandler, Oklahoma. He graduated in 1956 from Agra High School.
After a short time in the Navy, he worked at Tinker Air Force in Oklahoma City. Harold worked in law enforcement at Carney, Chandler, Edmond, and the Department of Corrections, retiring in 2000. He married Donna Tilton Purdom April 1, 1983 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He loved riding his motorcycle and his trike for the past few years. He just completed his Yamaha trike in August and rode weekly.
Harold is survived by his wife, Donna of the home, six daughters, Debra Denson of Longtown, Cheryl Givens of Choctaw, Pam Locust of Porum, Tina Taylor of Mounds, Virginia Purdom of Porum, Ruby Lindsey of Sapulpa, three sons, Jim Purdom of Porum, Bob Purdom of Dustin, Steve Purdom also of Dustin, 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Brown; and one brother, Harlin.
Funeral service will be 10 am Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Mallory Martin Chapel, Stigler under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.
