Evan Paul Schuering, 20, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was born on Sunday, May 28, 1989, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Roger and Cindy Stidham Schuering. Evan grew up in Checotah where he received his education. Evan’s high school years were filled with much activity and many honors. Evan was an important part of the award-winning Checotah high School Band. He was called to play”Taps” for many Veterans events. He performed with an ensemble and the high school chorus. Evan was selected for the school’s National Honor Society Chapter and was a member of the Business Professionals of America. He was elected by peers to the Student Council. Evan was a recipient of a Checotah High School Academic Jacket for being in the top 10% of his class. He graduated from Checotah High School in 2007. Evan was a widely-read young man who loved literature, music and spending time with his friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Donal Evan Stidham & Roger Schuering and cousin Josh Sloan. He is lovingly survived by his parents, Cindy Stidham Schuering of Checotah, OK. & Roger Schuering and his wife Anna of Houston, TX.; two brothers, Grayson Schuering of Fayetteville, AR;, Christian Schuering & one sister, Madeleine Schuering both of Houston, TX. Maternal Grandmother, Emmy Scott Stidham of Checotah, OK; & Virginia Schuering of Tulsa, OK. and numerous Aunts, Uncles Cousins, other extended family and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held Three O’clock P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2009 at First United Methodist Church of Checotah with Reverend Wayne Loftin, officiating. A private family scattering and burial of Evan’s ashes will be held at a later date.
