Verna Barker, 84, of Phelps, Kentucky passed away late Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Solara Hospital in Muskogee, OK. She was born August 26, 1925 in Rural Pike County, KY, the daughter of Ferrel & Valentine (Hurley) Dotson.
Mrs. Barker greatly enjoyed the company of family and friends and was well known throughout her community as a wonderful and bountiful cook. Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Vernon McCoy and Brady Jackson; her husband, Raymond W. Barker; her son, Jerry L. Barker; her grandson, Matthew P. Barker, and her great granddaughter, Arianna Barker.
