In Houston, Texas on October 19, 1919, a son was born to Frank and Leatha Cunningham Etheridge. He was given the name, Littlefield. He attended Booker T. Washington, in Eufaula, OK and he also attended school in Tulsa, OK. Professing a hope in Christ at a young age, Littlefield was baptized and attended Dickerson Chapel AME Church in Eufaula. He entered the workforce by working at several jobs during his lifetime. He retired as a aircraft maintenance technician in California before returning to Oklahoma. He met and married Ruby Robinson and this union lasted over fifty years until her death in 2008. Upon his return to Oklahoma, Littlefield became a member of Wayland Baptist Church.
On March 11, 2010 Bro. Littlefield was called home to be with his Lord. The family he leaves include two step-daughters, Billie Sue Polk, Salt Lake City, UT and Norma Exum, Compton, CA. Two step-sons, Ronald Robinson, Las Vegas, NV and Bennie Gahagans (Betty), Tulsa, OK. A sister, Maud Etheridge, Eufaula, OK. Two sister’s-in-law, Shirley Robinson Ellis, McAlester and Willie Mae Etheridge, Checotah, OK, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Bro. Littlefield will be on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayland Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Lewis officiating. His final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation hours are today from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center.
