Edward Wayne Parker

1932 - 2010

Funeral services for Edward Wayne Parker, 77, of Wagoner, OK, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at New Beginnings Outreach in Wagoner with Reverend Terry Presley officiating. Pallbearers will be Anthony Hammonds, Norman Wheelen, Kenny Beaver, Kris Hammonds, Jeremiah Hatten and Seth Wheelen. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Bilby, Johnny McMillan, Randy Smithling, Bedo Brassfield and David McMillan. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.

Edward was born July 5, 1932 at Brewer Bend, Oklahoma, the son of Wayne Oatley and Viola (Harris) Parker and died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Muskogee. On September 20, 1977 he married Carolyn Lowe in Miami, OK. During the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boxer.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn of the home; one son, Erick Wayne Parker and Tamara of Wagoner; one step-son, Anthony Hammonds and Kim of Broken Arrow; three step-daughters, Tonya Soltero and Frank “Angel” of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Lisa Wheelen and Norman of Missouri, Rhonda Beaver and Kenny of Hulbert; one sister, Henrietta McMillan of Muskogee; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Hammonds on December 19, 1987.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
