Carol Pratt Goad, 75, of Fort Gibson, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Muskogee Hospital. She was born Carol Jean Pratt, daughter of Guy F. and Grace White Pratt, on January 5,1935 in Muskogee. She was raised in Fort Gibson and graduated from Fort Gibson High School in 1953.
On December 17, 1953, she married Lue Ray Goad. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to her family. She especially loved family time with her husband, children and grandchildren, etc. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Lue of the home; four daughters, Cheryl Ann Goad Sigel (Joe), Paola, KS, Carol Diane Goad Merry (Rodger), Gardner, KS, Mary Lou Goad Diercks (Mike), Salina, KS and Susan Kathleen Goad Broyles (Steve), Spring Hill, KS; eleven grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Ruth Ann Pratt McLemore; nieces, Linda McLemore Shemeley, Carol McLemore Perry; her pet Tea Cup Poodle, Bear and several cousins.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Reverend Scott Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Sigel, Lee Merry, Kyle Sigel, Chad Sigel, Ross Kimball and Jared Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Mutt (Myrle) Tadpole, Jim Goodwin, and John Moffitt.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fort Gibson High School Alumni Association.
