Helen Christine Cosper Cole departed this life on June 30, 2009 at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls, OK, on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Wendell Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Brian Cole, Dustin Edwards, Jason Cox, Nathan Cole, Travis Cole and Garrett Cole. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas “ Russell” Calvin, Shane Chandler and Justin Cole. Burial will be in Fields Cemetery in Porum, OK, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.
Helen was born February 20, 1925 in Porum, OK, to the loving parents of George and Bessie Cosper. She married John Ander “Jay” Cole on May 28, 1943 in Talihina, OK. Together they had six daughters and three sons. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered by all she knew for her love of family, fun loving sense of humor, ability to entertain large groups and excellent home cooking. She always had a way to care for people whether or not she knew them. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, three brothers, William Wallace “Pete” Cosper, Jesse James Cosper, and George Robert Cosper; two daughters, Alveda “Javine” Cocke and Sherry Louine “Tootie” Troutman; granddaughter, Krishna Lean Walters and great-grandson, Kayne Tyler Hall. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Calvin and husband, Thomas, of Bristow, OK, Wanda Walters of Chattanooga, TN, Alura “Jody” Chandler and husband, George, of Braggs, OK, Janet Cole of Chattanooga, TN; three sons, Kenny Cole and wife, Linda of Webbers Falls, OK, Ronny Cole and wife, Rebecca of Sallisaw, OK, Greg Cole of Webbers Falls, OK, two sons-in-law, David Cocke of Vian, OK, Jerry McDaniels of Porum, OK, 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
