Funeral services for M.C. “Pete” Finney, 81, of Webbers Falls, OK, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 3, 2009 in the First Assembly of God in Webbers Falls with Reverend Mack Jackson, pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, officiating. Pallbearers will be William Pitts, Thomas Wilford Young, Kent Carpenter, Robert Fielder, Emmanuel Drew and Michael Fenner. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Sheffield, Roger Morton, Don Carter, Charlie and Don Gladney, James and Joe Cravens. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery at Vian, OK under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

Mr. Finney was born March 13, 1928 at Webbers Falls, the son of Mansfield Finney Sr. and Emma Daisy (Martin) Finney and died June 25, 2009. He attended Green Chapel School near Webbers Falls and married Frances Smith on October 16, 1956 at Vian. He was a lifelong resident of the Webbers Falls area and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Victor, two brothers, Bobby Gene and Alvin Clay Finney.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Finney of the home, his children; William Edward and Gloria Pitts of Willingboro, NJ; Gladys Marie and Willie Young of Guthrie, OK, Patricia and Reverend Kent Carpenter of Pennsauken, NJ, Deborah and Robert Felder of Cary, NC, Frances Anita Finney of Oklahoma City, Linda and Emmanuel Drew of Vian, Brenda and Michael Fenner of Oklahoma City, Bruce Finney of Walters, OK, four brothers; Cephus Finney of Vian, Mansfield Finney Jr. of Phoenix. AZ, Jackie L. and Hazel Finney of Cookson, Cary Finney of Webbers Falls, eight sisters; Dorothy Jean Pointer of Washington, DC, Marie Johnson of Washington, DC, Lorene Revels of Phoenix, AZ, Dollie Maxine and Edward Guyther of Temple Hills, MD, Betty Finney of Washington DC, Sherry Finney of Long Beach, CA, Virginia and Jimmy Walker of Mendenhall, MS, Jacquline Ryan of Okmulgee, eighteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
