Wayne Murphy Riley

1935 - 2012

Wayne Riley was born September 2, 1935 in Addington, Oklahoma to James Homer Riley and Mamie Ruth McLemore. He died on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

Wayne’s lifelong occupation was in the trucking industry as a self employed independent trucking contractor. He loved to watch old westerns like Gunsmoke, and earlier in life Wayne enjoyed boating, and trotline fishing. He also had two dogs he cared greatly about named Stiener and Jody. Wayne would do anything for anyone no matter what, and had many friends whom he enjoyed visiting and spending time with.

He was preceded in death by two sisters; Helen McCollough and Ida Mae Prather. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of the home Violet. One son; Ronald Wayne Riley and wife Darla of Porter, Oklahoma, two daughters; Valorie Lynn Baker and husband Riley Wayne of Porter, Oklahoma and Brenda Marie Stirlen of Porter, Oklahoma, one Brother; George Riley and wife Doris of Porter, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren; Bryan, Jason, Ariana and Alexus Riley, Ricky Wilson, Amy Grafton, Carrie Vanhorn, Julie Dickey, Melissa Smith, and Chance Stirlen, nineteen great grandchildren and one great- great grandgirl.

A funeral service for Wayne will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Porter First Baptist Church, with Pastor Dale Carey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory.
