Jerry Wayne Rowan

1945 - 2012

— Jerry Wayne Rowan, 67, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012.  He was born March 12, 1945 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma to William Raymond Rowan and Mary Louise Nutt Rowan.  He attended Fort Gibson schools and graduated from Fort Gibson High School. Jerry met and later married Diane Annette Sutherland on July 23, 1965 in Muskogee. He enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, and watching his favorite western show, Gunsmoke, as well as other western shows. He was a welder by trade, retiring from Acme Engineering in 2011.  Jerry was a member of Calvary Faith Church in Fort Gibson.  

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Rowan; his son, Kevin Rowan; and his sister, Loretta Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; his son, Kurtis Rowan and wife, Michelle, daughters, Kristi King and husband, Kevin, KaSandra McElmurry and husband, Roy, Keli Wiedel and husband, David; son, Khristopher Rowan and wife, Raven, all of Muskogee; grandchildren, Garrick Rowan and wife, Meg, Alex Rowan, Konner Rowan, Caleb Rowan, Kristian Rowan, Kaysea Sellers, Kirsten McElmurry, Kobe McElmurry, Kelsea Wiedel, Keaton Rowan, Klair Rowan; brothers, Leon Rowan of Broken Arrow, and Dale Rowan of Skiatook, Norman Rowan of Duncan; sisters, Joyce White and Priscilla Fields, both of Fort Gibson.

A memorial service conducted by the family will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012 at The Bridge at Christ Church, 120 E. Peak Blvd., Muskogee, OK., with Rev. David Howell officiating.
