James “Rusty” Day

1953 - 2013

— Funeral services for James “Rusty” Day, 59, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson with Dan Rouse officiating. Pallbearers will be Peter Bowers, David Bowers, Derek Bowers, Daniel Bowers, Mike Cooper, and Phil Cooper. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Rusty was born September 15, 1953 at Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Paul and Telitha (Kirkwood) Day and died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Tahlequah. On February 26, 1973 he married Margie Annette Cooper in Fort Gibson. Rusty served his country in the U.S. Air Force as Strategic Air Command, Security Specialist, and First Responder. He was a machinist and member of the Chandler Road Church of Christ. For 16 years, Rusty worked as a control room operator at O.G.& E.

Survivors include his wife, Annette of the home; sons, J. Adam Day and wife, Jade, of Muskogee, J. Eric Day and wife, Heather of Bartlesville; sister, Tammy Bowers and husband, Peter, of Broken Arrow; parents, Paul and Telitha Day of Fort Gibson; and two grandchildren.
