William “Bill” Turney

1923-2012

Funeral services for William “Bill” Turney, 89, of Muskogee will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Mann officiating. Pallbearers are David Setser, Tim Nicholson, Lance Nicholson, Patrick Turney, Jarett Turney and Joey Meek. Burial in Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

William “Bill” Turney was born January 23, 1923 at Bartlesville, OK, the son of Arthur and Grace (Hull) Turney. In July 1942 he married Lucille Bowden in Muskogee, OK. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a carpenter contractor. He was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded by his parents, brother, Art and sister, Mamie.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Turney of the home; daughter, Shirley Nicholson and husband, John of Wagoner, OK; three brothers, Frank Turney of Arkansas, Henry Turney of Muskogee, OK, Lee Turney of Wagoner, OK; one grandson, William Nicholson; several nieces, nepehws, cousins and other family.
