Jack L. Cothran

1920 -- 2013

— Funeral services for Jack L. Cothran, 93, of Oktaha, OK, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Ewoud Grootenboer officiating. Burial will be in Middleton Chapel Cemetery in Oktaha under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.

Jack was born January 9, 1920 at Holdenville, OK, the son of Edward Thomas and Mamie (Logan) Cothran and died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Tulsa. Jack served his country in the U. S. Army. On September 24, 1945 he married Agnes “Pearl” Calhoun in San Antonio, TX. She preceded him in death. Prior to retirement, Jack worked in the oil fields for 40 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.

Survivors include his son, James Cothran of Muskogee; daughter, Juanita Gaines of Oktaha; six grandchildren, Molly Potts of Broken Arrow, Diana M. Moran of Muskogee, Michele L. Mooney of Marietta, GA, Jason Cothran of Ventura, CA, Brian Gaines of Checotah, Eric Gaines of Oktaha; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Marge, of Muskogee; sister, Ellen Harris and husband, C. R., of Oktaha. His brother, Walter Edward Cothran, passed away on March 16, 2013, two days after Jack.
