Ray Hix

1927 - 2013

— Funeral services for Ray Hix, 85, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Knight officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Brooks, Sam Petty, John Bradley, Jeff Dean, Jim Roe Welch, Johnny Lamon, and Basil Myers. Burial will be in Tahlequah City Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK.

Ray was born May 25, 1927 at Hulbert, OK, the son of Christopher and Orah (Pyeatt) Hix and died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at his home. Ray was a member of Muskogee County Cattleman Association, Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association, Muskogee Farmers Association and was a local FFA and 4-H Booster.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Hix of Muskogee; sons, Richard Hix and wife, Irene, Winston Hix and wife, Debbie, David Hix and wife, Krinna, all of Muskogee, Dan Hix and wife, Evelyn of Yukon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Hix and wife, Rosalee; three sisters, Neomia Collins, Mozelle Peebles, Juanita Lynch; untold numbers of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Madeline (Schubert) Hix.

The family will be at the funeral home on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. to meet with friends and loved ones.
