Tommie Joe Chastain

1945 - 2012

Tommie Chastain was born on September 22, 1945 to John “Mutt” and Lucille Chastain in Emerson, AR, and died Friday, October 5, 2012 at Muskogee, OK.  He graduated from Emerson High School and immediately enlisted in the U. S. Navy where he served 22 years and four tours in Vietnam.

Tommie is survived by his wife, Marcella of 44 years; their two children, Rick Chastain and Kelli (Chastain) Clodfelter; his father, John Chastain; sister, Tina Emerson; grandchildren, Amanda, Devin, Thomas, Jordan, Tyler, and Bailey; one great-granddaughter; mother-in-law, Helen Tye; brother-in-law, Bill Tye; a niece and nephews.  Tommie was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille (Hines) Chastain; sister, Imogene (Chastain) Payne; his friend and uncle, Coy Anthony.

Tommie enjoyed fishing and camping with his many friends at Spaniard Creek, and connecting with many others through his C.B.

Funeral services for Tommie will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls with Reverend Ray Phillips and Reverend George Harris officiating.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Milton, Curtis Ratcliff, Phil Coppin, Raymond Perkins, Phillip Anthony, and Bill Tye.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Bonham, Kenneth Dorman, and Kenneth Hutchenson.

Services are under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.
