Harvey Young

1930 - 2013

— Funeral services for Harvey Young, 82, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Fort Gibson with Dan Rouse and Budo Perry officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Chris Young, Justin Young, David Walker, Jeff Walker, Levi Walker, and Bryan Young. Burial will be in Pettit Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.

Harvey was born September 16, 1930 at Tahlequah, OK, the son of Isaiah “Scott” and Viola (Terrell) Young and died Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home. Harvey served his country in the U. S. Army in Panama during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement, he worked for O.G. & E. Harvey was a long time Minister and Elder of the Church of Christ. He preached in Oklahoma, Arizona, and California. He will be missed as he was such a patriarch who passed on his love of the Lord.

Survivors include his sons, Mark Young and wife, Sherry, Bruce Young and wife, Vicky; daughter, Vicki Walker and husband, Jerry, all of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Chris and Sarah Young, Justin and Lauren Young, Lindsay and Jacob Keeling, Bryan and Jennifer Young, David and Laura Walker, Jeff and Jordan Walker, Levi Walker, and fiancée, Reatta Williams, Brooke Walker; great-grandchildren, Braden and Kelsy Young, Westin Young, Kerrigan Young, Baylor Young, Kamdyn Kating, Kade Keeling, Kolt Keeling, Jolee Walker, and soon to be born, Beckham Walker; forever friend, Marlene Pearce; sister, Betty Lunsford of Tahlequah,; brother, Arthur Young and wife, Dovie, of Fort Gibson; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Young of Westville, Dorothy Young of Tahlequah, Lorene Young of Yorba Linda, CA, Irene Lemon of Durant; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Ella Young; four brothers, Bob, Lloyd, Al, and Joe; three sisters, Melba, Katie, and Mary Sue.
