Floyd Lee Jessee

1934 - 2013

— Floyd Lee Jessee, 78, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Floyd was born on July 12, 1934 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Hobart and Ethel Jessee. Floyd married the love of his life Roberta Luke on September 10, 1951 and together they shred 61 years of marriage. Floyd was a hard-working man who, over the years, worked hard in the oil fields drilling wells, he also was a truck driver and maintenance worker for a local cardboard company.

Floyd and his wife have attended Fairview Baptist Church in Muskogee, Ok for many years and shared the love of their Lord and Savior with many friends. Floyd loved to go fishing with family and friends and he loved to garden often sharing its bounty.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hobart and Ethel Jessee; sister Janie and infant son Daniel Lee.

He is survived by his loving wife Roberta; daughter Peggy and husband Joe; daughter Sandy and husband Roger; daughter Cheryl and husband Sonny; son Mark and wife Judy; Brother, Wayne and wife Janet; and sister Louise and husband A.L. Gamble. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Baptist Church Muskogee, with Mr. Bobby Sowers officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Checotah Funeral and Cremation Service.
