Shirley Ann Fox

1943-2012

Shirley Ann Fox, 69, lifelong Checotah resident died on Monday December 31, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on October 6, 1943 in Checotah to her parents Cecil and Eula Burks. Shirley grew up and attended school in Checotah, graduating from Checotah High School with the class of 1962. She married Joe Fox and together they made their home and raised their family in Checotah. Shirley worked at many different places before beginning her career at the City of Checotah, she served as City Clerk and retired after more than 25 years of service. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren at many different sporting events.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Eula Burks and her husband Joe Fox. She is survived by her son Brad Fox and his wife Tonette of Council Hill, OK; daughter Marcy Fox-Haltom and her husband Billy of Pierce, OK; grandchildren Missy Fox-Colbert, Sagan Fox, Emery Fox, Madyson Fox, Koty Fox, Dalton and Kalee McCarroll; great grandchildren Alex Fox and Leah Colbert.

Funeral services will be Friday January 4, 2013 at Checotah Funeral Service Chapel with Mr. Tim Whisenhunt officiating. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Checotah Funeral and Cremation Service.
