Phyllis Ella Worley

1968 - 2012

— Phyllis Ella Worley, 44, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012.  She was born September 28, 1968 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to George Worley and Wilma Kennie Worley.

Phyllis grew up in the Muskogee area where she attended Gum Springs School, Okay School, and Hilldale High School from which she graduated. She loved to play softball and was the star pitcher. Phyllis was also a cheerleader. Later, Phyllis became a mother to Cole and Shy. Both of her children share her love of music and are musically talented. She loved going to concerts with her son where she once caught a drumstick at an Ozzy Osbourne concert. Phyllis will be remembered for being a fun aunt and mom. She felt her greatest accomplishments were her two children.

Phyllis was blessed with a special gift of artistic ability. She used that gift as a cake decorator for Sweet N Sassy where she has been employed since it opened. Phyllis loved working for Janet Brown.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, George Worley; and her step father, Jack Epperson, whom she considered her Dad.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Cole William Cook of Corona, CA.; her daughter, Shy Cameron McLain of Muskogee, OK; her mother, Wilma Smith and husband Joe of Muskogee; her two sisters, Carrie Kelley and husband Carl, Melanie Edwards and husband Rex, all of Fort Gibson; her three brothers, Stan Epperson and wife Marla of Rincon, GA, Haden Epperson of Muskogee, and Joseph Smith and wife Tori of Whitefield, OK; several close nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and other members of the family.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Gerald Treadwell officiating. Interment will follow at Stevenson Cemetery in Gore, OK. Serving as pallbearers will be her son, Cole Cook, nephews and nephews-in-law, Kevin Ezell, Jason Kelley, Colby Cole, Brandon Wilson, Branden Parpart and Jordan Kelley. Honorary pallbearer will be Jon McLain.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com
