V. Geraldine “Jerri” (Greaves) Brown, 90 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma passed away March 16, 2010 in Sallisaw. She was born February 2, 1920 in Fairland, OK, but grew up in Miami, OK. She married Clarence V. Brown Nov. 16, 1936 in Columbus, KS. They moved to Muskogee, OK in 1957, where Mr. Brown owned Brown’s Backhoe and Trucking Co. Mrs. Brown taught a Bible class for many years at Shiloh Baptist Church in Muskogee and Mr. Brown was a deacon. Mrs. Brown was secretary for Weddle Food Stores for 23 years. She retired in 1987. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, a daughter, Trecia Brown Robinson, 2 brothers, R. L. Greaves, Jr. and Byron Greaves, and 2 sisters, Pansy Essex and Betty Speciale.
Mrs. Brown is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law, Gary and Joan Brown of Walsenburg, CO and Gerald and Carol Brown of Sallisaw, OK, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Services will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2 pm at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, OK. Burial will be held at Monday, March 22, 2010 at 10 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, OK under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Robinson, Jeffrey Robinson, Mark Brown, Paul Brown, John Brown and great grandson Corey Brown. Honorary Pallbearer will be Frank Lake.
