Christine D. Simpson

1926-2013

— Christine D. Simpson, 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 with her family at her side. She was born on December 15, 1926 in Savanna, Oklahoma to Forest Earl and Hattie Lou (Tucker) Williams.

Christine was a selfless woman who loved her family unconditionally. She was very involved in schools, was a PTA president for many years, PTA State District Director, a Cub Scout Advisor, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years.  Before being blessed as a mother, Christine worked at SW Bell Telephone as an operator, making many friends along the way. Christine was a beautician, and also worked for 15 years for Muskogee Public Schools in child nutrition services. She loved her church, Boulevard Christian, where she taught Sunday school for the little ones, and was involved in various bible studies. One in particular was learning the Hebrew language.

Christine was preceded in death by husband I.G. “Jack” Simpson, her mother, father, and three brothers. She is survived by her children, John Simpson of Stone Bluff, OK and Janet and Ron Bowen of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Preston and Emily Simpson, Kristin Simpson Ragsdale, Jennifer Simpson, Kyle and Alicia Simpson, Keifer Williams, Kelsey Williams, Erin and Casey Ledbetter and Jordan Bowen; multiple great grandchildren; her sister; sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Christine Simpson will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bradley Belltower Chapel with James McCracken officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Preston Simpson, Kyle Simpson, Jordan Bowen, Casey Ledbetter, Dale Swaidner and Jason Swaidner serving as pallbearers.
