Anna Belle (Shover) Martin

1929 – 2012

Anna Belle Martin, age 83, of Chouteau, OK, passed away on December 15, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. Anna was born on July 11, 1929, in Eufaula, OK, the daughter of Nathan T. and Rose Shover. She was a seamstress and a homemaker; she loved quilting, cooking, gardening, and canning home grown vegetables and fruits. She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and holidays. She made many life-long friends in her work and her square dance club.

 Anna was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Frankie Shover, Jessie Smith of Muskogee, and Billie McBurnett of Council Hill; and her husband, Jinks Martin, Jr. She is survived by her three daughters; Edwina Garner and her husband, John, of Park Hill; Dorothy McBurnett of Muskogee; and Sherry Rosson and her husband, Leroy, of Sibley, MO; one sister, Betty Meadows of Hulbert; 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012, with burial at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK.
