Havana Vann

1929 - 2013

— “His Lord said unto him, well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” Matt. 25:21

On February 19, 2013, God called  his angel Havana “McNac” Vann, whom he blessed us to enjoy for many years. Born on April 19,1929, she was the third child of thirteen to Edgar McNac Sr. and Agnes Sallis McNac. She lived in Ft. Gibson, OK, all her life where she attended Nero School.

Havana, later met and married the love of her life Floyd Vann Jr. on July 9, 1947, to this union thirteen children were born. Havana, an extraordinary mother, instilled Christian values, love, honesty, determination and education in all her children and grandchildren. She retired from Muskogee Regional Medical Center in 1990.

She was a mother of the church at Four Mile Branch Baptist Church, where she looked forward to bible study & fellowship. Outside of church, Havana enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like fishing, teaching her boys how to grill at home gatherings and at the lake, hanging out with her girls and bargain shopping, where she was more like 38 than 83. Her garden was a “must-have” she enjoyed watching things grow.

Her family waiting to greet her includes her parents, her loving husband, three sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren. Those left to carry on her legacy until we meet again are her children; Bonnie McCarrol of Dallas, TX, Floyd Vann III of Wichita Falls, TX, Joe (Joyce) Vann of Las Vegas, NV, Savannah Vann of Tulsa, OK, Agnes (John) McCann of Midwest City, OK, Merilyn Vann of Muskogee, OK, Clifford (Frankie) Vann of Muskogee, OK, Deborah Vann of Muskogee, OK, Reginald Vann of Ft. Gibson, OK and Rhonda (Ronnie) Jones of Muskogee, OK, 32 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Her siblings Edgar (Mozetta) McNac Jr., Leroy (Cherry) McNac, Wardell McNac, Tommy (Delores) McNac Sr., Sarah Brown, Rosie Gilford, Lillian Taylor, with a host of loving relatives and friends.
