Steve A. Hosmer, 50, of Muskogee, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008. He was born September 13, 1957 to Richard R. and Patsy (Trent) Hosmer in West Palm Beach, Florida. Steve’s father was in the military and the family relocated frequently until settling in Alexandria, Virginia where he grew up and was educated. He moved to Muskogee in 1978 and has lived here since. In 1990 Steve began a fifteen year career at Gerber-Coburn building and repairing machines. In 2005 he went to work at the Veterans Administration where he was currently working. Steve loved traveling, bowling, biking, working on his house, going to church and Christian concerts.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Lu Hosmer, of Muskogee; step-children, Eric Parrott and Tina Parrott, of Muskogee; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Kent, of Muskogee; nieces, Patty Kent, of Altus, OK and Lindsay Garriott and her husband, Anthony, of Chandler, OK; aunt, June Hosmer, of Muskogee and uncle, J.R. Trent and his wife, Colline, of Muskogee.
Viewing for Mr. Hosmer will be from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 A.M. until 8:30 P.M. on Sunday. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Erik Parrott, Bob Sweeney, Sean Sherman, Bill Teague, Kevin Orange, Dirk Nail, John Robertson and Rick Hanes.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
