Thomas Lee Thompson

1945 - 2013

— Thomas Lee Thompson, 68, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 14, 2013.  He was born January 9, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Thompson and Janet Campbell Thompson.  Tom grew up in the Tulsa area where he attended school.  He graduated in 1963 from Edison High School.  After graduation, Tom joined the United States Air Force and honored his country by  serving in Vietnam. After he received an honorable discharge he went to work for the Tulsa World Newspaper where he was a Circulation Supervisor. Tom enjoyed playing golf and going fishing.  He was an avid Sooner football fan.  

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, James and Janet Thompson.

He is survived by his brothers, Jim Thompson and wife Susan, Rob Thompson and wife Teresa; his daughter, Kristy Holt; his nephews, Patrick Thompson and wife   D.J., Dean Thompson and wife Jill, Tanner Thompson; his niece, Brittney Drefkill and husband Brent; along with Terri Thompson. Also surviving are his great nieces, Lauren Hopson and husband Daniel, Kayleigh Thornton, Regan Thompson, and Caitlin Thompson.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Jardine officiating.  Interment will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full military honors.  

Funeral Services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com.
